Mint herb was something that we started growing last year around the house. Now I've grown your basic garden stuff but never really tried growing my own herbs around the house. I was really surprised how easy some of this stuff grows. This mint herb I don't use much besides enjoying the sweet smell of it around the house. This past year I've started to add it to brew with my tea. Or when I make a sweet mixed drink it doesn't hurt to add some mint to give it a slight twist. As you can see in (fig.01) that it's a small plant that seems to like being watered often and plenty of space!

Did I mention space? Yeah this stuff will take over a flower bed if you let it (see fig.02). We had originally started it in a planter that had a type of open fabric mesh bottom to it.Well this mint really didn't care for borders. It just started growing from the bottom and reaching for the light. At the end of the summer we had more than we really needed. But you can't argue with its sweet smell and how easy it is to grow.
The other thing I really liked about this herb was how easy it is to propagate. Propagation is when you can make new plants from cuttings of a plant. There is a scientific definition out there some place. But for me it's just when I can cut off an arm of a plant and stick it in the dirt and boom! A new plant that will slowly make its domination on the earth.

So if your looking for an easy plant to grow this year Mint isn't a bad place to start. Just as long as you water it and give it plenty of space to grow you wont have any problems with this little herb.
