I Remember The 80's Movie
I've grown up watching the horror movie Pet Sematary back in the 80's when it came out. The movie Pet Sematary scared me bad at that young age. But still loved the movie because it was so scary. Years down the road I came across the book on sale, for I'm guessing around .50 cents. Most of my books are usually purchased at a half price books store or thrift stores. Some times you score a good book and deep down inside you know it's worth a whole lot more than those .50 cents you spent on it. The book was in pretty bad shape when I purchased it, and that didn't stop me from buying it. As you can see in the photo here it's corners are missing and the back of the book is just about the same shape. I always find books as a sort of treasure that you can find along the way of life. Sometimes you just have to know how to spot this treasure!
Stephen King Is One Of My Favorite Authors!
Now I love reading Stephen King books, so in my blog don't be surprise if I recommend most of his books. That's not to say there haven't been stories of his that I didn't like either. There is always a hit and miss here and there as with most authors that write books. I will say this book of his is a page turner and keeps you wanting more! I would stay up late at night just to get further along in the book cause it was so good. So many little details that no movie could ever capture along with how the character was feeling inside. And I was so surprised that the characters not put in the movie added so much more texture in the book. It really rounded off the story so much more than I could have expected from this book.
A Little About The Story
If you have no clue on this book I'll give you a short run down, without giving too much away. Given there have been movies made of this book, and a remake of it, this story is of a family who move to a town because the dad gets a new job. The house they live in involves being near a pet cemetery, that is explained in way more detail in the book. Notice the spelling of the book title Pet Sematary, that is misspelled on the book. As with most King's books you'll find that things usually start to happen to his characters along the way. And sometimes those things lead down a dark, dark, road. The characters all have their flaws in some sort of way as you read along, cause nobody is perfect in this world, and specially in King's books.
If You Love Horror Stories, This Is The Perfect Book!
I love scary stories to read, and I'll admit this book even gave me some odd dreams after reading this late at night. To be honest this one is at the top on creepy books I've read in my life time, I just wish I had pick this one up to read sooner in life. I can see this one being a good read for the month of Halloween, if your wanting to get in the mood of things later on this year.
Keep An Eye Out For This Book.
I hope you will pick this one up and give it a read. Remember I got this book for like 50 cents, torn pages and all, that didn't stop the words from reaching out of the pages and filling my mind with a great story. I still run into copies at thrift stores, half price books and even your local library should have a copy of this book. I hope you give this book a chance and give it a read!
