I follow Feng Zhu's art and videos online, a very skilled concept artist! I came across a video he had made a while back on 'The importance of Thumbnails'. I have to say this is one of the funnest videos to follow along with and try out (see YouTube link below). For me I kept wanting to do more and more little thumbnail sketches of spaceships.
When I first started to try this technique out it did take a while to get my mind flowing. But as the ball started to get rolling I saw my mind wouldn't stop! This one video is packed with so much knowledge and insight of the industry for concept artist. As you can see below is my attempt at his process and getting ideas out on paper (digital paper).
