Highly Recommended Book - The Martian by Andy Weir

So one day I was at Half Price books and saw this book for $3, figured why not right, I liked the movie. Well after reading the book I now like the book better than the movie, crazy right? Again this book sat on my book shelf waiting for its turn to be read, like most books on that shelf. 

If your not familiar with this book or movie it's about an astronaut Mark Watney who gets stranded on Mars for a long time and we are along for the ride. The book reads more like a diary than a story to me and that was a nice touch. 

After i had finishing the book I had to put on the movie on, given how fresh the book was still in my mind. What I found that the movie could not communicate very well was how long he stayed on that planet. I feel like the book communicated this very well. The movie felt more like the cliffs notes version of the book. Yes they put in a few of the parts but didn't explain on a lot. If your a technical person and love numbers and chemistry you'll love this book even more. Some of the details in this book had me to stop and look up more of what it was being talking about. 

I feel what attracted me originally to this Book/Movie was the fact I knew he was a botanist. Personally I love growing food in the garden, or any plant really. So that alone was an interesting part of the character in the book. 

So if you come across this book I highly recommend you picking it up! Again I found my book for only $3! I hope you find this story as good as I have.
